Your neighborhood temple in RA Puram

His Holiness Kanchi Kamakoti Sankaracharya (Paramacharya) during his routine padhayathra to Madras during 1950s stayed in the newly developed Raja Annamalaipuram and HH made a suggestion to have a Vinayakar Temple built for the Colony.

Based on his suggestion a temple was constructed by the efforts made by Smt. Avibakthammal , wife of Idaiyathimangalam Vaidhyanatha Iyer and the Temple Kumbabhishekam was done on 12/6/1960.

A Trust was created under the name of RAJA ANNAMALAIPURAM BAKTHA JANA SANGAM (Regd) and the members of the Sangam elected the Executive Committee members to take care of the day to day administration and maintenance of the Temple.

Initially there were Sannadhis for the presiding Deity – Sri Siddhi Buddhi Samedha Karpaga Vinayakar, Anjaneyar, Durga Parameshwari, Valli Devayanai samedha Subramanya Swamy, Navagrahangal, Daskshinamoorthy, Ayyappan and Sridevi Boodevi samedha Lakshminarayana perumal. The temple was further expanded to accommodate more Deities – Thirupurasundari samedha Chandramouleeswarar, Guruvayurappan, Adhi Sankarar, and Kala Bairavar.

The temple has facilities for conducting small functions like Januvasam, Nitchayathartham, Sashtiapthapoorthi, Sathabhisheham, Irumudi kattu for Lord Ayyappan.
